"The following video exposes various types of torture inflicted by the 9th IDPA Training Unit on the trainees. According to the upset soldiers who submitted the video, the extremely cruel exercises supposedly prepares the trainees in the eventualities that they will be captured by red fighters of the New People's Army. However, the 9th IDPA Training Unit's indoctrination is the exact opposite of the NPA's policies. Moreso, former prisoners of war of the NPA attest to the NPA's humane treatment of captives and adherence to international humanitarian law," pahayag ng Isnayp sa kanilang website.

ABS-CBN workers protest illegal dismissal and union busting

A big protest action was conducted yesterday in front of ABS-CBN's Sgt. Esguerra gate by members of the Internal Job Market Workers Union. Retrenched workers staged a picket to pressure the network's management to reinstate the illegally dismissed and hold certification elections following the Dep't of Labor and Employment's decision on their case. They were supported by organizations coming from the labor and youth sectors.

Starting October 12, the picket in front of ABS-CBN network’s Sgt. Esguerra gate will serve as the protest center of the Internal Job Market Workers Union (IJMWU). According the IJMWU, the ABS-CBN management gave no response to the demands of the workers and instead, continued to dismiss employees who are mostly union officers and members.

BAYAN calls on P-NOY to end killings

People's organizations led by the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) marched from the EspaƱa Blvd to the Mendiola bridge near the Malacanang Palace last July 19 to call on the Aquino Administration to end extra-judicial killings against activists.

In a statement, BAYAN secretary general Renato Reyes said that President Benigno Aquino should condemn and junk the counter-insurgency program OPLAN BANTAY LAYA of the former administration and end political killings.

There are three victims of political killings under the new Aquino government so far, on top of 1,205 victims of extra-judicial killings under the Arroyo regime. Oplan Bantay Laya (Operation Freedom Watch) is the military counter-insurgency plan that is being blamed for thousands of human rights violation in the last nine years.

Remembering Luisita

The Hacienda Luisita massacre is an outstanding issue of the people vs Noynoy Aquino.

Six years after, the Hacienda Luisita massacre remains an outstanding issue of the Filipino toiling masses against the Cojuangco-Aquino clan. This brief video commentary talks about why it is very important come the 2010 elections and Noynoy Aquino’s presidential bid, to tackle the issue of the massacre and reflect on the life …and death of the Luisita farm workers.
