Mga magsasaka, "nag-lakbayan" laban sa administrasyong Aquino

 

Oktubre 18, 2010 - Sinimulan ng mga magsasaka sa pangunguna ng Katipunan ng mga Samahang Magbubukid sa Timog Katagalugan (KASAMA-TK) ang apat na araw na "lakbayan" patungong Mendiola upang kundenahin ang anila'y "maka-hacienderong rehimen" ni Pangulong Aquino.

Ang Pambansang lakbayan ay isang taunang aktibidad ng mga magsasaka  sa buong bansa upang ipanawagan ang tunay na reporma sa lupa at hustisya para sa mga magsasaka.  Ang tema ng lakbayan ngayon ay "LAKBAYAN NG MGA MAGSASAKA PARA SA LUPA AT HUSTISYA LABAN SA HACIENDERONG REHIMEN NI AQUINO".

LAKBAYAN NG MGA MAGSASAKA PARA SA LUPA AT HUSTISYA LABAN SA HACIENDERONG REHIMEN NI AQUINO

Peasants will slam the Haciendero Republic of Noynoy Aquino after more than 100-days in office that has no clear plan on how to address the issues on land reform in the country but rather continues Gloria Arroyo’s state terrorism in addressing the peasants’ grievances.

The marathon protest march dubbed as “LAKBAYAN NG MGA MAGSASAKA PARA SA LUPA AT HUSTISYA LABAN SA HACIENDERONG REHIMEN NI AQUINO” will start-off at Calamba, Laguna on October 18 and culminate in Mendiola Bridge on October 21. The march will pass through key offices and highlight local peasant issues calling for genuine agrarian reform and put an end to militarization in the region.

KARAPATAN denounces another killings under Aquino Regime; Slams Aquino for being silent

Human rights advocate KARAPATAN today marched to Mendiola to condemn the 2nd incident of killings among activist under President Benigno Aquino III administration.

KARAPATAN denounces the assasination of Pascula Guevarra, a 78 year old peasant leader in Luar, Nueva Ecija who was shot dead on Friday, July 9.

In a statement, KARAPATAN Chair Marie Hilao- Enriquez said that Aquino's silence on this issue is a way of giving license to the military to continue the killings of civilians with impudence and impunity.

Enriquez also calls on PNOY not to make his own list of victims of political killings citing more than 1205 victims of extra judicial killings under former President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo.

The group appeal to all human rights defenders to continue on pressuring the new administration to end impunity and stop the killings.
