The Heidi Effect | Contrary to what some of you might think, I am really an optimist. My life may suck but I still make sure to scavenge something good from it. My garden is not really that big nor magnificent, nonetheless the fact that it is mine, that I am tilling it with my bare hands make it special, dearer than the Versailles gardens. My house is really small, but it is a grand mansion because it my home; I am paying for it and I am making it beautiful. My dogs aren’t that special, they are not purebred but the fact that I take care of them, sleep and play with them makes them more amazing than Lassie. My job is not that great, but knowing and loving the people I deal with everyday more than make up for any misgivings I encounter.

Like a rolling stone is the blog of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) secretary general Renato M. Reyes, Jr. The blog was originally intended to be light reading, focusing on the funny and even ridiculous moments in activist life. Unfortunately (or fortunately), more serious issues could not be evaded. They had to be tackled. The blog thus took a more serious turn from the time it was obvious Gloria Macapagal Arroyo would provide no rest for the weary, no respite for the oppressed.

His experiences served to power his energy and passion to achieve excellence in his pursuits as a broadcast journalist, movie director and writer, music artist and writer. More importantly, they served the tenets of humanity as he showed his capacity to experience and respond to feelings, especially of the poor segment of our society.
