Peasants will slam the Haciendero Republic of Noynoy Aquino after more than 100-days in office that has no clear plan on how to address the issues on land reform in the country but rather continues Gloria Arroyo’s state terrorism in addressing the peasants’ grievances.
The marathon protest march dubbed as “LAKBAYAN NG MGA MAGSASAKA PARA SA LUPA AT HUSTISYA LABAN SA HACIENDERONG REHIMEN NI AQUINO” will start-off at Calamba, Laguna on October 18 and culminate in Mendiola Bridge on October 21. The march will pass through key offices and highlight local peasant issues calling for genuine agrarian reform and put an end to militarization in the region.

OCTOBER 18
Location: Laguna
9:00A.M. – 10:00A.M. | Send-off program at Crossing, Calamba City
• Unveiling of “Señor Haciendero” effigy symbolizing Noynoy Aquino’s military rule as peasant exploiter in the country.
• Peasants from Hacienda Yulo will join the march to Manila
• Urban poor victims of demolitions such as Sitio Kabute in Calamba and Sitio Mulong in San Pedro will also merge with the protesters
OCTOBER 19
Locations: Alabang to Baclaran
9:30A.M. | Manila entry and arrival at Alabang with welcoming program
• “Napasong Pangako”, 2-feet high plant-pots containing different crops will be smashed symbolizing the ambition of peasants to own their land still remain as an ambition because of Noynoy Aquino’s broken promises.
• Peasants denounce the 20th Anniversary of CALABARZON project
4:30P.M. | Cavite marchers merge with main contingent via Zapote Road
6:30P.M. | Merging of NCR marchers with main contingent at Baclaran Church
6:30P.M. | Merging of NCR marchers with main contingent at Baclaran Church
• Peasants from Hacienda Yulo and indigenous people from Rizal will merge with the main contingent
• Cultural night and candle lighting ceremony in honor of peasant victims of extrajudicial killings and other martyrs of Southern Tagalog
